Teaching NP students is one of the most rewarding things I have had the privilege to do. Watching you grow and learn as future practitioners is extremely humbling as an educator.

If you’re like me, the thought of incorrectly prescribing controlled substances to my patients scares the crap out of me.

Being familiar with your states’ scope of practice is vital to ensuring legal prescribing practices. Conducting and documenting thorough physical, social, and mental assessments prior to prescribing opioids is important both for your practice and your patients safety.
